When you no longer have a place to call "Home".

Indeed, as an expat, one not only has no place to call home anymore, but is also a foreigner in two countries.

Leaving a way of life behind to adopt a new one didn't mean that the old way of live will remain the same. What happens is not only that one is changed as an expat, though still remain an outsider, but also the old way of life moves on.

It's quite common to go back to the old country after a few years for a visit and to not be able to understand everything that is happening as before. One then becomes an outsider in one's own country, as well as an outsider in one's adopted country.

It certainly is not for the faint of heart or whose family is not strong.
